子別・個別・完全個別ってどう違うの?!
学校のように、1つの教室にたくさん並べられた机に生徒さんが着席していて、ホワイトボードや黒板の前の先生が一斉指導をするのが「集団指導塾」です。
みなさんのお父様、お母様世代で塾といえば「集団指導塾」でした。最近の傾向として、集団指導の個別指導化、集団・個別のハイブリッド化などがあり、集団指導と個別指導の区別がつきにくい例もあります。
13人位の少人数の生徒さんのグループに指導をする「集団指導」塾と、例えば4人位の生徒さんに指導をする「個別指導」塾【完全個別ではないことにご注意ください】とでは数字だけ見れば何が違うの?と思いませんか?

近年の中央大学法学部は、
一時期ほどのブランド力を持っているとは思われていないようです。
ダイヤモンド誌には凋落をレポートされました。
この記事においては、中央法の強みと弱みを考察します。
「特集記事Part2 志願者激減 文系の窮地」では、名門・中央大学法学部の凋落がレポートされている。都心から離れたキャンパス移転も、かつての司法 試験受験者にとっては誘惑から隔絶された理想的な受験環境とされたが、現在ではマイナスばかりが目立つ。さらに、大学・法科大学院で平均419万円にもなる借金をして弁護士になっても、ワーキングプアになりかねない法曹界の現実がロースクール不況を呼び、その影響をかつて法曹界の花形といわれた中央大学法学部をはじめとした有名大学の法学部が受けているというのだ。河合塾によれば、2010年に中央大学法学部の67.5あった偏差値は60.0にまでレベルが落ちている。

中央法の弱み
ダイヤモンド誌にも触れられたようですが、中央法は偏差値が落ちています。
現在の河合塾の偏差値では一般入試の法学部法律学科の偏差値は62.5となっており、
明治大の政治経済学部に並ばれています。
追記 2015年5月26日更新の河合偏差値でも、
中央大の一般入試の法律学科の偏差値は62.5となっていますが、
明治の政治経済学部が60.0となっているため並んではいません。
marchの個別入試で62.5の偏差値となっているのは、
他に立教大の経営学部があります。
追記2015年10月5日の河合偏差値では、
中央大法学部法律学科の一般入試の偏差値は62.5です。
MARCHの他学部の一般入試においては、
立教大社会学部社会学科が62.5、立教大経済学部経営学科が65.0となっています。
受験難易度という面においては、
MARCHと別格と言えるか疑わしいかもしれません。
もっとも、入試形式の細分化による偏差値工作が可能なため、
偏差値という指標自体の影響力も低下しているかもしれませんが。
多摩という立地も弱点と言えるでしょう。
千葉県や神奈川県からも学生を集めやすい都心部のほうが、
より優秀な学生を集めやすいはずです。
立地、法曹人気の低下、偏差値の低下の三要素は、
中央大学の弱みとしてよく挙げられがちなものです。
また、実は研究という点においても中央法はあまり強くないようです。

しかし、中央法にはまだまだ強みもあります。
単純に、今まで優秀な人材を輩出してきた実績も強みの一つです。
プレジデント2011年10月17日号によると、
中央法は上場企業社長輩出数ランキングで11位です。

国会議員輩出数においても6位であり、京大や明治大を上回っています。
比較的社会に多くの影響を与えている大学であると考えられるでしょう。

社会で活躍する人材を多く輩出してきたことは、
これまでの教育体制にある程度の評価を与えるものであり、
これからの大学の支えになるものでもあります。
過去の実績ではない、現在の中央法にも強みはあります。
それは学部生の予備試験の実績です。
平成26年の予備試験において、
中央法からは478人が受験し19人が合格しています。
この数字の凄さは、大阪大や京都大の数字と比べると分かりやすいでしょう。
大阪大学は、78人が受験し2人が合格です。
京大は、112人が受験し2人が合格です。
予備試験の合格率という点では中央法は京大をも上回っています。
中央法の受験偏差値はそれほど高くないですが、
法曹への関心の高い優秀な学生が集まっていると言えそうです。

法曹の道を選ぶ人は限られているため、
大部分の学生にとってはそれ以外の就職先が重要となります。
そこで、中央法の上位就職先を早稲田法と比較してみます。

三菱東京UFJ銀行と大和証券が上位に来ていることも、共通点となります。
地方公務員に注目すれば、早稲田法の特別区職員に対応するのが、
中央法の八王子市役所や相模原市役所といったところでしょうか。
NHKや丸紅が10位にランクインしているところは、
早稲田法の強さとも考えられます。
しかし、中央法が大差をつけられているという印象ではないですね。
まとめ
中央法は、受験偏差値や立地という面では弱みを抱えていますが、
過去の社会的実績と、現在の予備試験の強さという強みを持っています。
また、法曹以外の就職先もそこそこ良いと言えるのではないでしょうか。
受験偏差値は入口の数字に過ぎず、
学生にとって本当に重要なのは入学後のメリットでしょう。
中央法は、河合偏差値62.5程度の受験生にとっては、
最も良い選択肢の一つと言えそうです。
追記2015.11.9
2022年までに後楽園キャンパスに移される方針が固まったようです。
都心への移動自体は人気上昇につながるものだと思いますが、
他学部との隔離、後楽園キャンパスの狭さといった不安要素もあります。
都心回帰でどこまでの影響が出るかは現段階では判断し難いですね。
